Hi, I’m Makaila

Horses have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember, but it was my own horses—Fern, Archer, and Risk—who truly showed me just how much of a difference the right nutrition can make. Watching them thrive with thoughtful, individualized care is what sparked my passion for equine nutrition and deepened my belief in its power to transform a horse’s health, happiness, and performance.

At the heart of FAR Equine Nutrition is my genuine desire to support horse owners. I understand that feeding horses can feel overwhelming with so many options and opinions out there. My goal is to simplify the process by offering clear, science-based guidance that aligns with your goals and your horse’s needs. I listen closely and provide realistic, personalized plans that fit both horse and owner. Whether you're managing a high-level performance horse or a beloved companion, I’m here to help you feel confident in every feeding decision.

My Inspiration

Before

After

My horse Archer was a major inspiration behind my journey into equine nutrition. When he came under my ownership, he had long struggled with allergies and maintaining weight—challenges that had been difficult to resolve despite the thoughtful care of those before me. Through continued education and research, I created a balanced diet and made key management changes that helped him truly thrive. His transformation deepened my commitment to helping other horses feel their best from the inside out.
